The Third Line has officially announced their third solo exhibition with Iranian artist, Sahand Hesamiyan. Titled Prolepsis, the showcase will celebrate the artist’s 24-year journey with steel.
While renowned for his ambitious large-scale works, Hesamiyan’s latest exhibition presents miniature forms of his anticipated yet unmaterialized projects. Each sculpture poignantly echoes what could have been, inviting spectators to ponder the interplay between aspiration and realisation.
Hesamiyan’s work blends the precise geometric principles of Islamic architecture with his signature minimalistic sensibilities. Through a unique reinterpretation of elements drawn from Iranian architecture, Hesamiyan conveys the spiritual notions deeply rooted in ancient Iranian heritage, whilst simultaneously underscoring their pivotal role in shaping the history of Islamic art.
